May's Newsletter

Just three shows into the 2008 barrel season and we have earned over $1,200 toward Year End Awards and our membership is growing. We're on track for another great year with the promise of continued support from our members. Aren't you looking forward to another great year of barrel racing in 2008?

Welcome to our new members - Mike Britt and Kayla Pope who join us from Suffolk, Va., Crystal Bass, and to our youngest new member, Holly Hux, niece of Brenna Hux and granddaughter of Linda and Billy Hux. Be sure to search them out at the next show and welcome them to the District 07 family!

It was good to see Anne Lumley back at the shows (Moye Fence) even if she wasn't riding. Anne has surgery and is out for the season but she may let Daylon keep her ride in shape until she's back in the saddle.

State Finals is coming up so remember - you must pre-register to avoid late fees! The program/entry form is available in the Carolina Barrel Horse News. If you don't subscribe, the entry form is available online at www.cbnews.com. In order to enter and participate, your name must appear on the NBHA Membership List by May  1st, and you must have attended at least three shows. Good Luck!
